There is a certain stiff, seriousness to the album that is a bit off-putting. I thought the choppy, dirty guitar sounds worked in good contrast against this, I'm thinking in Anesthetize and Way Out of Here. Those over-driven guitar sounds also worked well within the context of their songs, a great explosion out of the quiet passages there. Sleep Together had an interesting sequenced keyboard pattern in the background, which is a fine thing to hear. Beyond those touches the album did feel a bit too much like a fairly conventional modern take on a prog tinged rock theme. I could pick up flavourings of Pink Floyd, King Crimson and even a little bit of Genesis style guitar picking (in Way Out of Here). There's no problem, for me, to hint at your influences but I didn't find too much seeking out of new territories, as perhaps those bands had done in their day. It was a bit too straight ahead rock for me to particularly grab my imagination, excepting a few passages here and there. The lyrics matched the music, there were a few bright ideas in there and some stuff that sounded pretty corny.

Anesthetize I enjoyed, although, like a lot of very long songs, there are going to be bits you like and bits you don't. Sentimental also worked quite well, this felt a bit more modern – anthemic and echoey, which isn't normally my kind of thing, but actually put together with some craftsmanship. It's all considered really, but possibly over-considered and a bit dry and there's ceratinly no arguing that they are from Hemel Hempstead.

I found this to be a rather ugly mixture of Embrace and Foo Fighters, anthemic tracks that went on too long with a rather ugly, choppy guitar sound which just didn't match the style. They're from Hemel Hempstead too.
